Celebrate, Celebrate, Celebrate > Sweet Valentines Day Decor

Are you one of those people that the second the Christmas decor is back in the garage, your house is shellacked in Valentine's red, pink, and white?

I'm a little late in the game this year but I decided to shoot for a fabulous, last minute finish, in the Valentine's day decor department:

I used my Halloween tree because I love it so much, and let's face it- it's too cool to be in a box; and I strung it with a fringed crepe paper garland. You all know how I love feathers, so I put some white ones in clear heart ornaments that I got from Hobby Lobby. Then I added in the sweet little Valentine's Day Banner that Laurie Glossy had made from paint chip samples; and a recycled book page garland that she had given me. (Okay I admit - I stole it. But my tree needed it!) The finishing touch was a sweet little pink sparrow that I roosted in the top of the tree.

I also found this adorable wood rosette wreath that I scored on clearance for only $6!

It looks just as fabulous as the price, hung over my mirror. Better late than never right?

Have some photos of your own fabulous Valentine's day decor? Send us a pic! We would love to see it!

Frock Me Friday > Glitter and Feathers

My dining room looks like it was the scene of a fairy and angel dance off - glitter and feathers everywhere.  I'm sure Angela Glossy Flossy's house looks more like a fairy and angel rave!!  Today's Frock Me Friday was going to be all about the glitter, it still is, just a little different.

Has anyone been watching Diane Sawyer on ABC News talking about the state of the economy?  I know that's not a very Christmasy topic but she has made a suggestion - buy each person on your gift list one gift "Made in America".  One way you can do this is to support your local handcrafters.  Etsy is a great source for "Made in America" as are your local Christmas Boutiques. You can buy jewelry, clothes, slippers, scarves and a variety of "Frock Me" items handcrafted by an artisan in America.

In the spirit of "Made in America", Angela Glossy Flossy has crafted these fantastic Angel Wing Wreaths made from recycled sheet music and will be selling them at a local boutique on Saturday.

If you live in our area and you're out and about come out and visit with her.  There will be lots of other handcrafted items for sale like lace vests, jewelry, and Holiday arrangements.  Come out and support your local "Made in America" handcrafters!

Wherever you live, go out and support your local handcrafters this season.

Celebrate, Celebrate, Celebrate > Thanksgiving Table Decor, Update!

Whew! What a Thanksgiving holiday! I hope all of you wonderful glossy readers had an amazing Thanksgiving, just as we did. It was all a blur with yummy food, turkey hats, gourmet beef jerky, and screams of, "Ewww, mom has her hand in the turkey's butt!" Oh, and there was some dancing and singing going on too. It was a typical Chaos and Gloss 3 ring circus, I mean holiday, and it was great!

Here are some pictures of what I came up with for this years Thanksgiving centerpiece and table decorations, as promised:

My color palette for this year was brown, bronze, gold, and cream. I got the gold and bronze garland from my favorite store, Hobby Lobby (otherwise know as the Crafter's Disneyland), as well as the feather balls.

I added in some pops of color with the robin's blue goblets and the red roses in the centerpiece.

Then I added in some feathers that I had hand plucked from my turkey...
Ok, no, not really. But I could.
*Note-I also had a small fire feature going on in my centerpiece as one of the candles lit a piece of the garland on fire. It was big excitement, but for safety's sake, move those candles back!

I hope everyone had a great day of giving thanks and spending time with all the people who love them.
